Westby Junior Tourney Re-cap

I wanted to send out a message to Central in thanks for your support of the Westby Junior Tournament this past weekend.  For the Westby club, it was one of the largest turnouts in many years that we have had and we only plan on improving the communication and overall experience for those that come to Westby in the future.  We had a total of 66 competitors on all of the hills with 27 of them being on the K65.   I had numerous comments from club members of how great it was to see so many skiers on the K65.  On that note, the K65 will be available for anyone that would like to be skiing on it this coming weekend if Eau Claire is not on your itinerary or you would like to ski on Sunday in place of Wisconsin Rapids large hill tournament.

Also a big thank you goes out to the out of town help of the items that were needed; marking, officiating, and overall help with the skiers and support of the event.

We would like to hear from you if there are ways that we can improve our Junior tournament for a better overall experience for those that attend in the future.  We look forward to seeing you in Westby for the large hill or next year at our Junior Tournament.  Again thank you, we truly appreciate you coming to Westby.

2015 Winter Tri-Norse Good News/Bad News

from Wisconsin Rapids:

Bad News:

The snow fencing covering the plastic on our 52 meter hill broke loose from its anchors and slid down into the dip.  It is a big frozen mass and not able to be moved until spring.  Therefore, there will be no competition on our 52 m this winter.

Good News:

We are in the process of snowing the 5, 10 and 22 meter hills which will be available for our January 18 meet. As you all know, lack of snow and manpower is always a concern. If everything is a GO, competition in all classes will be held on these 3 hills.  There will be a $15.00 entry fee and this meet will not be sanctioned,  so no card required.  All skiers are invited to join us for training on Saturday, January 17 with no hill fees and our concession stand will be available.  If hotel accommodations are required, the Sleep Inn, 4221 8th Street South, 715.424.6800, is offering a $60.00 room rate with breakfast.  Ask for the Tri-Norse ski jump special.

That is all for now.  I will send a progress report on Monday, January 12 regarding our meet and hill conditions.

Calling All Central Division Photographers!!!

If you take pictures at any Central Events or even at your local club and want to share them with the World, please contact Kris Edlund  (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ) or me for directions on how to upload your photos to our photo sharing site www.centralskijumping.smugmug.com. It is quick and easy and a great way to let everybody enjoy your photos.

If you are just interested in looking, please feel free.  All photos can be quickly (and for free!) downloaded to your own hard drive.  We are lucky enough to  have several great photographers that upload their photos after almost every event, but we would love to have more.

Sue Kavanagh of Coleraine and Kris have already posted a ton of great shots from Mpls and St Paul's tournaments this past week-end.   IT is very easy to skim thru the photos and pick out your skier.

Again if you need help with the site, please contact Kris or me.
